Tour Overview

A short family- oriented safari with activities favorable to all ages, from young children to middle-aged and the elderly. This safari offers a combination of adventure, leisure, culture, history and conservation.  Begin your adventure with visits to Nairobi’s famous destinations. The Giraffe Centre, a creation of the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya) and Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage where a brief lecture is given on the conservation efforts being made by these two institutions to save, rehabilitate and re-introduce baby elephants and the endangered Rothschild giraffe back into the wild enhancing their population growth.

Here you get to see the feeding of orphaned baby elephants by the handlers and an opportunity to feed the giraffes. While at the Karen Blixen Museum, a historic former farm house of the famous Danish Author ‘Karen Blixen’ you will listen to a brief lecture on Karen Blixen’s early life while in Kenya.  A boat ride on Lake Naivasha gives is a chance for an up-close encounter with animals such as hippos, zebra, giraffe and waterbuck and several bird species like fish eagle, pelican and cormorant.

While at the famous Masai Mara reserve, get to visit a Maasai cultural village, an opportunity to learn and appreciate the way of living of this indigenous tribe who have lived with wildlife for years. During the months of June to October over two million wildebeests and zebra cross over from northern Serengeti national reserve to Masai Mara reserve in what is arguably the world’s great annual migration. This private safari can be arranged all year round and can be customized to your individual needs.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Naivasha

Pick from Jomo Kenyatta International airport or your Nairobi hotel, after breakfast at 08.00hrs and visit Giraffe Center, then Daphne Sheldrick followed by lunch. Visit the Kazuri beads factory. After lunch in Nairobi, drive to Lake Naivasha, with a short stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint. Evening at leisure.  Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge.

Day 2: Naivasha – Masai Mara

Early breakfast followed by a one-hour boat ride at Lake Naivasha. Drive to the world famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Dinner and overnight at camp.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 3: Masai Mara Reserve.

An early morning balloon safari over the Mara (optional extra) or take an early morning game-drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. After lunch proceed on a late afternoon game-drive. Dinner and overnight at Fig Tree Camp.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 4: Masai Mara Reserve.

An early morning game-drive followed by breakfast at the lodge, visit to a Masai Village is included. After lunch proceed on a late afternoon game-drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 5: Mara – Nairobi

Early breakfast, depart at 07.00hrs and drive to Nairobi, visit Karen Blixen Museum followed by lunch in Nairobi. Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your onward flight to your beach extension.

Meals included: breakfast & lunch.

End of services.
