Nairobi National Park
Nairobi national park is located on the south of the city and is only a 15 minutes’ drive from the central business district, 5 minutes’ drive from Nairobi Wilson airport and 30 minutes’ drive from Jomo Kenyatta International airport. The park is approximately 117 square kilometers meters and is a sanctuary of both white and black rhinos. Other attractions include the ivory burning site, birdlife with over 400 bird species recorded, several swamps are home to hippos and crocodiles, giraffes, Burchells’ zebra, leopard, buffalo, hartebeest, impala, Thomson’s gazelle and many more.
The park is open throughout the year from 06.00hrs to 18.00hrs daily and can be visited at any time of the day. While visiting Nairobi national park, it is recommended to include a visit to the Daphne Sheldrick animal orphanage (open daily except 25th of every December from 11.00hrs to 12.00hrs).
