Kakamega Forest
Kakamega forest is a remnant of an equatorial rainforest which once stretched across central Africa. Home to a range of primates including the white & black colobus monkey, Debrazzar monkey, red tailed and blue monkey. Other mammals include giant forest hog, bush pigs and giant forest hedge hogs. Very rare bird species including the Chapin’s Flycatcher, Turner’s Eremomela, blue-headed Bee-eater, the great blue turaco and grey parrot amongst many more. Activities here includes birdwatching with resident naturalist, guided walks and rock climbing.
