Aberdare National park
Aberdare national park is located 150 kilometers east of Nairobi and easily accessible by road. The park covers an area of 87 square kilometers with varying vegetation from open moorlands and steep forested ravines. This isolated Volcanic range forms the eastern wall of the Great Rift valley. Some rare species found here include the endangered bongo, the giant forest hog, serval car, golden cat, blue duiker, African civet cat and African wild cat. Over 250 bird species have been sighted here. Hiking and guided-walks are popular activities especially for adventure lovers.
