Tour Overview

A short private safari with emphasis on conservation efforts being made to protect the endangered species like the white and black rhino. Guaranteed rhino sightings and a chance to find the rest of big five i.e., lions, elephant, buffalo and leopard. The only chance to visit the chimpanzee sanctuary and the last two of the northern white rhinos within the expansive Ol Pejeta Conservancy. A good opportunity to see the dominant snow-capped Mount Kenya on a clear day. Mount Kenya is, the second highest mountain in Africa at an elevation of 5199 meters above sea level. A visit to a coffee farm gives you an opportunity to learn the process of coffee growing, harvesting production and tasting. This safari can be tailor-made to individual needs and can be arranged all-year round.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Pick up from Nairobi hotel or international airport and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy (approx. 3 hours’ drive). Via a coffee farm – where you will have a lecture on the process of coffee production and processing. Continue to Serena Sweetwater’s camp for check in and lunch. Time to relax in the afternoon before setting out for another game drive in the evening.

Meals included: lunch, dinner.

Day 2: Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Breakfast, set out for a morning game drive with visit to the Chimpanzee sanctuary included. Continue with game drive with plenty of black rhino, lion prides, elephant, zebra and the majestic giraffes. On a clear day, you can view the 3 peaks of Mount Kenya, the highest dormant volcanic mountain in Kenya – at 5199 meters above sea level. The conservancy is also home to the last remaining northern rhinos. Lunch at camp. In the evening your guide will set out for another game drive. This day you have an option of having a night game drive (at an extra cost) where you can have a chance to view the nocturnal species like leopard, Aardvark and honey badger.

Day 3: Depart

Early morning game-drive, return to camp for a leisurely breakfast, check out and drive to Nairobi (approximately 3 hours). Lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages and visit to Karen Blixen Museum – a former farmhouse to the famous Danish author, Karen Blixen – best known for her book ‘Out of Africa’. Transfer to the airport for your international departure flight OR your Nairobi hotel.
