Tour Overview

Kenya is among the worlds’ best coffee producing countries. Just a 30 to 40-minutes’ drive out of Nairobi, lies Fairview Coffee Estate. Daily tours take place between 10.00hrs to 12.00hrs and 14.00hrs to 16.00hrs. A customized tour can be arranged outside the set times, if advance arrangements are made. Due to the altitude (1750 meters above sea level), fertile soils and permanent rivers which supply water for irrigation, the farm with close to 100 acres under coffee has been producing the best quality coffee since the 1900’s. The farm employs over 400 people from the local community during peak period.

Here, with the guidance of a professional coffee expert, you will have an engaging coffee tour around the farm. You will learn about coffee growing and production. After a one-hour tour of the farm, you will learn about coffee roasting, get the chance to taste and appreciate the various distinct flavors. Your barista will explain to you the factors that affect the flavor.

Before you leave, you will get a chance to take a cup of freshly brewed coffee in the beautiful green gardens. At a very competitive rate, you can buy yourself a packet of coffee to carry home. The special hand-woven packaging is done by the local women and a small percentage of your payment goes to supporting their families.

After the tour return to your Nairobi or continue with your safari.
